So I got a DD yesterday.

I came back home after college rather burnt out, and wasn't quite in the mood to read up for the term paper we're supposed to submit this week. Damn the French Revolution, I said, mostly to myself, I need some time to unwind. I thought I'd upload some of my recent stuff to DA, as it had been some time since I had put up new work here. Now imagine my surprise when I found out that my feedback messages showed an unusually high number - by my standards anyway - with most of that concentrated on favourites on 'HGN Cover'.

It didn't take me long to click on that particular deviation and figure out that it had a DD on it - and for yesterday, no less. If I have ever acted like an over-excitable petulant child, it was on yesterday evening. I kept hitting that refresh button like I was expecting the genie to fly out of it. My friend called it my 'Cinderella hour'. I don't think there's a more fitting description for a DD; the Ball lasts till midnight.

I want to thank the community for supporting me so heavily all through yesterday. Although the numbers might be quite modest compared to some more popular artists, they are beyond phenomenal for me. But more than the numbers, It gladdens me to think that people saw and liked my art. Although it might be an extremely self-centered way of looking at the whole event, I feel that sticking to the community for all the years - however infrequently - paid off, somehow.
